About The Artist
BeaJay Creation
is an emerging web-based business I founded in 2022. I am a native of Chicago, Illinois, residing in Tinley Park with my husband Audray and two mischievous cats, Bogart and Cagney. I grew up on the south side of Chicago and went to Simeon Vocational H.S. before attending and graduating from Augustana College in Rock
Island, IL. Although I had every intention of pursuing a career teaching secondary education, I accepted a position in banking. This opportunity spearheaded a career working through varying ranks within Corporate America. I retired in April 2017.
Growing up in a solid Christian household, I was baptized at thirteen by Rev. Wilbur Daniels, Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. Years later, I joined Salem Baptist Church of Chicago (Rev. James T Meeks), where I am still a member under the ministry of
Rev. Charlie Dates. Combining my Christian influences and the skillsets learned during years of managing people and business operations, I developed a strong propensity for paying attention to detail and ensuring customer satisfaction.
I began handcrafting unique one-of-a-kind throw pillows, custom-made to client specifications, that became show pillows used as statement pieces for all home décor. I have expanded my artwork beyond pillows. These stunning creations are designed using multidimensional media to make excellent gifts for art lovers and home décor enthusiasts and are Truly Beautiful...Utterly Unique...Absolutely Noteworthy.
During the “shelter in place” days, I was inspired to gift family and friends with custom throw pillows to bring light into the dark days of the pandemic. The gratitude and encouragement of the recipients led to the beginning of BeaJay Creations in the basement of our townhouse. My loving and supportive husband, Audray Harris, commissioned the milestone of my first order in December 2021. According to my sister, Carolyn Crowder, author of Seeing God in Everything, God can give us a new experience at any time in our lives, and BeaJay Creation is my Genesis Moment.
